How Do you Choose The Right Farmville Crops?

Choosing the right crops to grow in FarmVille is vital to keeping a constant flow of coins into your FarmVille pockets.  If you are struggling on picking the right crops, here are some easy to follow tips that you can use to maximize your profits:

1.   Know when you can realistically be at your computer. Be honest here and figure out the times that you will realistically be  sitting down at your computer and have the time to harvest and plant new crops.  If it’s before and after work, then you will know that 8 hour crops will work while you’re at work and 12 hour crops will work while you’re sleeping.  This way you can easily maximize your profits and you won’t have any withered crops when you come back.

2.   Keep in mind the ultimate FarmVille rule: FarmVille time is not normal time.  Yes, you read that right, FarmVille time runs on a 23 hour day instead of a 24 hour day like normal.  So, you want to keep that in mind when you’re planting crops and trying to time when you’ll be on to harvest.  Remember this, especially when you’re planting 1 day crops that they will be ready in 23 hours instead of 24 hour blocks.  It’s not really a big deal to those that are planting crops that are in lower hour increments than 1 day, as you’ll be back in that amount of time to harvest them.  But for those that are doing the longer timed crops, you will be cutting off an hour at least depending on what crops you choose.

3.   Crop mastery is an excellent thing to work for. This is unlocked at level 10. When you are planting crops in FarmVille, you want to make sure that you work towards mastering each crop and then moving on to a different one. Why does crop mastery matter?  Because when you master one crop, you get the chance to get extra experience points and more money when you harvest them.  This alone is an excellent thing to work for, as any amount of extra experience points are a good thing and every FarmVille farmer knows that more coins only helps them plant more crops.

4.   Pick your FarmVille goals carefully. This basically means that you want to know what the maximum cash or experience per hour/plot is before you plant.  There is no point in planting crops that won’t yield a good amount of return on your investment as it will only waste time.  Believe it or not, but there are crops like this in FarmVille.  So, you want to calculate your overall return before you plant.  To do this, you simply take the amount that it costs to plant one plot of that particular item, add in 15 coins for the plowing and you have your cost.  Then, subtract that amount from the end result, which is what you gain when you harvest that crop. To figure out what your hourly return will be, divide that number by the number of hours that it takes for that crop to mature.  You can easily figure out which crops will give you the most for your time and effort very quickly and not waste any time.

Simply use these great tips when you are trying to pick the next crops to plant on your FarmVille farm and you will easily start to reap the benefits of that extra time you put in.

Facebook Farmville Cheats and Codes

FarmVille is another popular game that is developed by the same publisher: Zynga. As far as I know, it is only available on Facebook, but would not be surprise that Zynga would be providing one for iPhone as well given the Mafia Wars popularity there (see Mafia Wars Cheats). Basically, Farmville lets you manage your own farm by rearing animals and growing vegetables and fruits. The two key objective is to build experience points so you can move ahead and to make money so you can build a better farm. FarmVille cheats codes exist online though most of them does not work. Some are definitely just cheats whereas others are strategies to make sure you level up faster and make money. There are also guide books on Farmville that you can buy. Otherwise, here is a number of them that you can try.

If you are looking for cheat codes here, good luck! We have not been able to find any and mostly what is out there are strategies to manage your farm better though there is always the good old method of changing the variable in your computer memory.

For the advance user who knows a thing or two about computers, memories, assembly code, etc, you can download the Cheat Engine. It is basically an open source tool that lets you modify games variables by scanning for variables within the game and allowing you to change stuff. It is not something that anyone should try. Also, depending on how the game is constructed, you may not be able to make a permanent change. For example, most of the stuff for FarmVille is stored on the servers and Cheat Engine changes the variables on the client computer. However, depending on how synchronization works, it can turn out that your FarmVille cheats go away when you close the browser.

FarmVille Cheats in Speeding up

Open Link –

This is for the advance user who knows how to do this sort of stuff. I would not recommend the amateur to do this as this requires you to have some fair knowledge of memory programming and hacking. Use Cheat Engine to modify the speed.

FarmVille Cheats- The Gift that keeps on Giving
Try this though it may not work on every browser. Create an additional account (not your main one) which we call the giver. Using the giver account, right click on the “Gift” tab and then click on Open In New Browser. Open as many of this as you want. The, go to each open tab which essentially has the same screen and select the gifts you want. Please make sure you do that for each tab without confirming the selection. Then, go to each tab again and select your main account as the account to receive the gift. Again, the key is not to confirm anything. Once you are done,  you can then click confirm and your main account should receive these gifts. Since gifts=money at some point, you would have created a way to earn unlimited amount of money though it is probably not as fast as doing it the honest way of planting and harvesting crops.

FarmVille cheats in getting coins
This is not really a cheat but The trick is really knowing which tree and animals give you the best bang for the buck. It is usually good to just sell the tree once they have gone through one harvest. This is because the initial gifts does not cost any coin, but then it later takes up too much space and so selling them immediately allows you to make some coins on 0 cost and then save the time since it takes some time for the next harvest. Also, you get the most coins when you plant versus rearing animals. Just like stock investing, you really want to diversity as the plants takes different amount of time to grow and harvest. By planting several crops, it allows you to have almost a constant supply of fresh crops ready for harvest so you are not just waiting around for crops to grow.

You should also know that crops just grow whether you are in front of the computer or not. So, do know the timing of each crop as you need to be able to harvest them within hours or they will start rotting and you do not want to waste time clearing rotting crops.

Strawberries are the cheapest and grows in about 4 hours. So, you may want to start your morning sowing some strawberry seeds and then log in 4 hours later to harvest it. This is the crop you get started with when you start playing FarmVille, but it is not necessarily the best crop to plant since they can spoil very quickly which means you would have wasted all your money trying to plant the crop.

FarmVille cheats in a farm on auto pilot mode
If you do not have much time to work on a farm, yet want a stable cash flow, you may want to make decisions on the kind of tree you want to plant. Fruit trees last longer and allows you to sell the fruits for money. The problem is that they take up space, are expensive to buy and the fruits does not sell for a lot of money. In other words, your return on investment is not the best here. However, if you do not have time anyway, this may be the best for you. Otherwise, you can also invest in animals where you can get milk from the cows, eggs from the duck, etc and make some small cash flow with it. Unlike crops which is time critical, food from the animals never really spoil and so you are not tied to returning to your computer to try to manage it.

So, most of the Farmville cheats you find online are really not cheats, but just smarters ways to make more money and level up in experience points. Using the Cheat Engine is probably your best bet to quickly change a number in memory. Otherwise, there are also Farmville guide books on that you can buy if you want to learn the strategies and techniques.

1.Farmville Secrets

“The original and still the best FarmVille strategy guide…”

If you can, it’s best to find someone who already has a successful farm (or 2, or 3) who will share their secrets with you. Unfortunately it can be hard to find someone like that.

If this is the situation you are in then this guide is highly recommended. It was written by expert farmer Tony Sanders, who gives away all of his secrets.

It’s the original guide to FarmVille, and in our opinion it is still the best. There is a reason this guide has sold thousands of copies.

You will get 100% legal tips and tricks, not some cheat codes that will only get your account banned.

This is a straight to the point guide that doesn’t waste any time. It is packed with information you can put to use right away.

There are tips to get more cash, increase your level, and buy all sorts of cool things (villas, vehicles, animals).

Some of the tricks you will learn in FarmVille Secrets:

  • The secrets pros use to track their crops. You will never have to worry about your crops rotting again. Yes, it is possible!
  • How you can double your FarmVille money overnight and completely on autopilot. You will be blown away by how easy this is!
  • The simple way to quickly grow your neighbors without bombarding your friends list with a million invitations – this is a great tip.
  • Exactly what you should plant and when to make the biggest profits (this is a great way to bring in money fast).

The one downside to this guide is that it’s not the best for the complete beginner. You need to be familiar with the basic terminology of the game otherwise it may be difficult to understand what the author is talking about.

If you have been playing FarmVille for awhile then you should have no problem reading through the book (PDF) and putting the strategies to immediate use.

The Verdict: Easy to use; fast results; 60-day money-back guarantee; still the best strategy guide – our top pick

2. Farmville Expert

Our second pick is also a great guide. As with our top pick you get a lot of good tips on all aspects of the game.

This guide also comes with video tutorials on how to execute the strategies outlined in the book.

Overall, this is a good guide, especially for those who have never played FarmVille before.

But our expectation were high after seeing what our top pick had to offer. Those that have even a little experience playing FarmVille will find the overall content of FarmVille Expert lacking when compared to FarmVille Secrets.

There simple isn’t the shear number of tips, tricks, and strategies in this guide.

In summary, this is a solid guide. The video tutorials are useful for the beginning farmer, but the number of tips is far less than our top pick.

Millionaire Farmer is our third and final selection.

It’s a good no-frills guide to just about everything in FarmVille. It gives a good overview of every topic imaginable.

That’s also the downside to this guide though, as the information is just too general. A lot of the specific tips and secrets that were in the other guides are no where to be found here.

This is more of an introduction to FarmVille, which will mostly be useful for those who are just starting out.

Overall, the information in this guide is Very general. Because of this it is best suited for the new farmer looking for an introduction the game.

Six secrets of Farmville’s success – and 33 million people agree

Farmville may be the fastest growing Facebook game ever. It was only released in July and in August, over 33 million people played it. What’s the secret of its success?

Maybe it’s just because it’s summer, but we seem to have got farming on our brains. Look at the top 25 games on Facebook in August.

Top 25 Games on Facebook - August 2009

That’s four farming games in the top 25, with Farmville at #1 and Farmtown at #3. Farmville is only two months old, but it had 33 million unique players in August.

Yes, you read that right. 33 million players.

According to ComScore (via TechCrunch), Facebook had 340 million unique visitors in June (although Facebook only acknowledges 250 millon), which means that around 10% of all Facebook users played Farmville last month.

That’s a phenomenal success. I argued in July that Zynga may have overtaken Yahoo! Games to be the largest games “site” on the Internet. With this latest performance, I think that there can be no doubt that Zynga has claimed that crown.

The six secrets of Farmville’s success

Farmville came out at around the same time as Playfish’s Country Story which, while doing well, has only achieved 4 million users, 16% of the size of Farmville’s playerbase. Farmville has got six key elements absolutely nailed, and it’s reaping the rewards of its clever, viral design. So what are they?

1. The joy (and shame) of gifting

Gifting was one of Facebook’s earliest memes. When Facebook first emerged, it was about “poking” your friends and giving them virtual beers or dogs.

Zynga has cleverly picked up on this. When you visit your farm, the first screen you see is not a picture of your farm, but a list of gifts that you can give your friends. In many games, this screen would say “invite your friends to play this game”, a thinly-veiled attempt to get you to spam your mates. Zynga turns this on your head by asking you to send them a gift.

Gifting is particularly clever because it evokes an ancient anthropological need that is common to almost all cultures: the need for reciprocity. If someone gives you a gift, you have to reciprocate. It might be writing a thank you card, or getting your round of beers in, or taking a bottle of wine to a dinner party. Across all cultures, there has to be an “exchange” of gifts.

So if someone sends me enough Farmville gifts (and the default message asks me to send a gift back, to press the point), I’ll feel honour-bound to give them one back.

Much better than spam.

2. Farmville gifts have value

The objective of Farmville is to build a thriving farm. You spend money to dig plots, plant crops, buy animals and plant orchards.

Trees and animals are expensive. They look pretty but it’s hard to justify the investment compared with growing strawberries. But look! Your friends are sending you all these expensive trees and valuable animals. Aren’t your friends thoughtful?

Unlike the original virtual beer or birthday cakes, gifts from my friends in Farmville enhance my enjoyment of the game. In fact, the more gifts I receive, the better my farm looks and the more fun I have. So it is in my interest to:

  • Invite as many of my friends into the game as possible, so they give me presents
  • Give them all presents as often as I can so that they give me a present back

That’s viral marketing at its most brilliant.

3. Farmville gifts cost me nothing

Here’s where Zynga departs from the real world: sending a gift costs me zilch. I can only send them sporadically (I think it’s once a day), but it costs me nothing more than the time it takes to select an avocado tree and the friends I want to send it to. My cash reserves stay the same, but I have just asked a dozen people to send me something worth real value. Aren’t Farmville gifts wonderful?

4. Farmville doesn’t really bother with levels

There are levels in Farmville: you can’t buy certain crops or a combine harvester until you reach a certain level. But the real limitation is cash. And you can get more cash by playing more often. (In contrast, Playfish’s Country Story, which I generally prefer, has pretty strict limitations by what level you are, and you don’t level up very fast). So the size of my farm is dependent more on how many friends I have who are sending me gifts and how often I play. This makes it very easy for me to keep coming back to Farmville.

5. Choosing what crops to plant matters

Strawberries grow very fast in Farmville-land. Only four hours in fact (whereas wheat takes three days). But there is a quid pro quo. Strawberries wither and rot quickly too. If I don’t get back in time to harvest them quickly, then all my work goes to waste. So as well as choosing crops based on their in-game value, I choose them based on when I next expect to play. I vary them, so that I have fast-growing and slow-growing crops, because that way there is something to do every time I visit my farm.

In other words, I control my own gameplay experience which makes me feel a sense of ownership of my farm, and means that I want to return to check on it often.

6. If you don’t return frequently, your crops wither and die

With Country Story, you have to visit frequently to water your crops. If you don’t, they “pause” their growth, and won’t start again until you water them.

Farmville is harsh. Fail to harvest their crops and they rot. Gone. Money down the drain.

So you have to visit regularly, just to make sure that the game doesn’t punish you.

The moral of the story

There are two things that matter to making your social game a success: getting users to return frequently (stickiness) and getting users to invite their friends (virality).

Farmville has achieved this, and has 33 million users to prove it.

How to Become Rich Farmer In farmville

How to Play and Score High on the Best Game on the Net

The Recipe For Success on this Much Loved Game

Being a farmer takes a lot of time, dedication and patience. You need to sow, watch the crops grow and then finally harvest. It does not happen overnight of course. Nowadays, however, more people are rediscovering the pleasure of reconnecting with nature and enjoying the gifts of the land. It all happens today on Farmville, the new video game that is attracting millions of players across the globe courtesy of Facebook.

On the virtual farm in Farmville, crops get to grow quite quickly. You get to cultivate strawberries, raspberries, rice, eggplants, wheat, soy beans, pumpkins and much more. However, as any well respected farmer, you must be pretty consistent. In other words, you must follow through or you will find a dry, miserable field. This is therefore, a game for those that have sufficient time to spare. You cannot plant strawberries and leave for a full day of work. If you work full time, your best choice is choosing something that matures slowly so you will not have any unpleasant surprises.

So here you have it… below are some of Farmville’s best kept secrets..

How to Become a rich farmer on Facebook’s Game Farmville

  • For quick profits the best choice are rasberries which mature in as little as two hours gaining you some good 46 coins. Blueberries may take a little longer but the wait is surely worth it as they will ultimately make you gain 91 coins. Other good choices are strawberries which mature in four hours allowing you to gain 35 coins.
  • Raising farm animals such as chickens, cows and sheep, may be fun, but ultimately, will not make you much rich. However, the advantage is that unlike crops they do not go bad and will not need much care.
  • Growing trees as well will not make you rich but they will be there for you without wilting. For instance, growing cherry trees takes two days for a mere gain of 18 coins, apple trees take three days for 28 coins and lime trees take 5 days for 75 coins.
  • If you are looking for making some cash, you may visit a neighbor and lend a hand by cleaning up the weeds, raking up leaves or scaring crows away. You gain some extra coins and hands on experience this way.
  • Bigger fields of course, will allow you to plant more, therefore will be much more profitable. However, in order to accomplish this you need to have several friends (called neighbors). For instance you need to have at least eight neighbors to expand the farm to a 14×14 lot, or better, 10 neighbors will give you a 16×16 lot. Of course, the more neighbors, the bigger land you may own, therefore the higher the profits.
  • Purchasing buildings allows you to get faster to the next level and therefore, progress in the game. However, ultimately, they will just sit there and not bring any profits.
  • Another way to gain some coins is by visiting your Facebook homepage and checking if any of your friends have recently won any ribbons. Here you will have the option of getting a bonus from them. The better the ribbon the more coins you will get.

As seen, just as in real life, farming can be a passionate hobby but it requires lots of time and dedication. However, just as the real farming profession, you must use astute strategies in order the gain the most out of your crop.

Farmville Gameplay

Upon beginning a farm, the player first creates a customizable avatar which may be changed at any point. The player begins with an empty farm and a fixed starting amount of “farm coins”, the primary currency in the game. Players also earn XP (experience points) for performing certain actions in the game such as plowing land or buying items. At certain XP benchmarks, the player’s level rises. As the player obtains more items and progresses through levels, crops and animals become available to them via the “market” where items can be purchased using either farm coins or “farm cash”. Farm cash is earned by leveling up or completing offers, or purchased for real money.

The main way a player earns farm coins is through harvesting of crops or visiting their neighbors. The player does this by paying coins for plowing a unit of land and for planting crops, such as tomatoes on it, finally harvesting them after a certain amount of time has elapsed. The amount of time it takes for a crop to mature, and how much money a crop yields when harvested, is dependent on the crop planted and is noted on its entry in the “market” dialog. They will wither, or they will be of no use when a crop-specific amount of time has elapsed, the amount of time being equal to 2.5 times the amount of time taken to grow the crop (for example, crops which take 8 hours to grow will wither after 2.5×8=20 hours). However, a player can use farm cash to purchase an “unwither” to rejuvenate the crops or can use a biplane with “instant grow” to cause crops to be immediately available for harvest. Although the biplane can be purchased with coins, this special feature is only available for farm cash. As a player levels up more, crops with a higher payoff and economy will become available. Sometimes a crop will need a permit that costs FC in order to be planted.

Livestock and other plants

A player may also buy or receive from friends livestock and trees or bushes, such as cherry trees or chickens, which do not wither but instead become ready for harvest for preset amounts of money a set amount of time from their last harvest. Trees and livestock cannot die.

Social interaction

Like most Zynga games, FarmVille incorporates the social networking aspect of Facebook into many areas of gameplay. Players may invite their friends to be their neighbors, allowing them to perform five actions on each other’s farms per day by “visiting” it. Neighbors may also send gifts and supplies to each other, complete specialized tasks together for rewards, and join “co-ops” – joint efforts to grow a certain amount of certain crops.

Neighbors may also send gifts to each other in the form of mystery gifts with expensive, but random items, special deliveries with building supplies, or by choosing a particular item to send. They cost the sending user nothing. For Farmville’s 2nd birthday, a series of different mystery gifts were added to the Gifts Page.

Decorations can be purchased in the market for coins or cash or can be sent in the form of free gifts.Decorations include many items like buildings, hay bales, fences, nutcrackers, gnomes, flags, topiaries, etc. There are sometimes limited edition items depending on the theme such as a Valentine’s Day theme, halloween theme, winter theme, etc. Decorations also give experience points (xp) depending on the cost. During the summer, Zynga releases an event called “The 7 Days Of Summer”, where they rerelease a different theme every 24 hours.

 Farmville English Countryside

This expansion was rolled out in mid to late March 2011. It is a secondary farm, accessible from the user’s own. At first, going to one would pause crop growth and benefits on the other. In response to fan communication, Zynga introduced the option to turn off pausing when traveling between the farms. The English farm introduced sheep breeding. After certain tasks are completed, it can be utilized on the main farm. After completing all the EC quests, players gain the ability to transfer items between farms.

What Is Farmville?

FarmVille is a farming social network game developed by Zynga. It is a clone of Farm Town, and is similar to older games such as Harvest Moon.Gameplay involving various aspects of farm management such as plowing land, planting, growing and harvesting crops, harvesting trees and bushes, and by raising livestock.

It is available as an Adobe Flash application via the social-networking website Facebook and Microsoft‘s MSN Games, and as an app for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. It is currently the most popular application on Facebook, with ten percent of all users playing. The game is a freemium game, meaning there is no cost to play but players have the option of purchasing premium content.
